OBITUARY: 

Mrs. Mary V. Purvine
Salem, Or., Jan. 23—(Special)—Mrs. Mary Virginia Purvine, 84, member of a pioneer family of Polk and Marion counties, died here today. She had been in ill health for several months. She was born in Pike county, Missouri, July 15, 1844. On November 24, 1864, she was married to Joshua L. Purvine. Four sons, E. W. Purvine, C. D. Purvine and L. M. Purvine, all of Salem, and F. L. Purvine of Wilmington, Cal.; a sister, Miss Dora Walker of Salem, and five grandchildren survive. Mrs. Purvine was a member of the Zena Presbyterian church for many years.
