OBITUARY: 

Marian S. Nickila, March 30, 1923-March 18, 1995

Marian S. Nickila, 71, of Salem died here Saturday. A Nebraska native, she moved to Salem from Clatskanie in 1959. She was past president of the Oregon Association of Chiropractic Physicians Ladies’ Auxiliary and a member of the Salem Academy Women’s Auxiliary and the Baptist Church. Her interests included making floral arrangements. Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Nickila of Turner; daughters, Diana Lee Newell of Leavenworth, Wash, Sharon Quiring of Silver Lake, Wash, and JoAnne Pfau of Salem; son, Steve of Cupertino, calif; brother, Robert Roth of Salem; sisters, Marie Friedlan of Chandler, Ariz, Rose Lebsack of Fort Collins, Colo, and Bertha Faust of Colorado Springs, Colo, and six grandchildren. Services will be at 10 am Monday in Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary. Private interment will be in Zena Cemetery, near West Salem. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Alliance of Oregon, PO Box 10051, Portland 97210.
