Gresham resident Jonathan Dalton Schneibel, 28, died Wednesday, July 20.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 26, at Greater Portland Baptist Church, 17800 S.E. Main St.
Jon was born July 6, 1983, in Portland to Ed and Sue Schneibel. Jon grew up in the Rockwood area. He graduated from Reynolds High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and a three-sport scholar athlete all four years, and from the University of Oregon in 2009 with his bachelor's degree and a minor in English.
Jon was a server and bartender at Outback Steakhouse and a full-time student at Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing.
Jon enjoyed a bodybuilding lifestyle and high-intensity weight training. He was a 13-year member of Olympic Gym & Aerobic Center. He was an avid reader of many topics and genres and an Oregon Duck fan. He loved life, his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents of Gresham; brother, Luke Schneibel of Portland; fiancee, Heather Mell of Beaverton; and grandmothers, Lois Schneibel of Portland and Irma Wade of Gresham.
Gresham Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
