OBITUARY: 

Seymour Working, late resident of 1180 Colonial avenue, died early Wednesday morning at a local hospital where he had been a patient since last Friday. Seymour, a retired tally man in the lumber industry, had been ill for four or more years with leukemia. Born in Logan, Kansas, March 17, 1879, Working came to Salem from the state of Kansas in 1904 or 1905. He was a member of the Court Street Christian Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Evelyn Wright of Salem and Mrs Alameda Randall of Cottage Grove; a son, Joseph Working of Salem; a sister, Mrs Daisy E. Moore of Logan, Kansas, and seven grandchildren. Announcement of services will be made later by the Howell-Edwards chapel.
