OSBH DC (Polk County 1956) #7561 - Fred John Woelk, male, farmer, widowed (Barbara), b. 23 May 1861 in Germany, d. 20 May 1956 in Salem, Oregon (Rt 1 Box 364) at the age of 94 years, resident for 51 years, name of father John Woelk, interment Zena; informant C.L. Woelk, son.

OBITUARY: 

Funeral services for Fred J. Woelk, 94, for the past half century a resident of the Salem area, will be held from the Clough-Barrick funeral home at 1:30 pm Wednesday. He was born in Germany November 23, 1861, and came to this country when a young boy. He lived in Michigan and Kansas before coming to Oregon in 1905. Hoe operated a farm northwest of Salem for about 35 years. At the time of his death he was living with his son, Clarence L. Woelk, Rt 1, Salem. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Edna Gritton and Mrs Velma Carpenter, Salem, and Mrs Winifred Hicks, Bend; five sons, Clarence L., William L., Frank, Theodore and Fred, all of Salem; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Zena cemetery.
