OBITUARY: 

McMinnville – John P. Widener, 74, of McMinnville, died Saturday. He was born in Hayworth, Okla. He worked for the railroad in Prescott, Ariz, in 1934, moving to The Dalles in 1948 and working for the Union Pacific as an engineer. He moved here in 1982. He was a member of the First Christian Church at The Dalles and the Locomotive Engineer Union. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Keven Widener, Hood River; daughter, Sharon Depuy, McMinnville; brothers, Art, Tucson, Ariz, and Don, Prescott. Graveside services will be at 2 pm Monday at Zena cemetery in Spring Valley. Arrangements are by Macy & Son mortuary.
