OBITUARY: 

Michael Smith, 55, a farmer living a mile and a half east of the state fair grounds on the Silverton road, passed away this morning at 3 o’clock, leaving his wife and daughter, Mable. The funeral will be held from the Terwilliger undertaking parlors in this city Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev Thos Acheson will officiate and burial will be made in the cemetery at Zena, Polk county.
