OBITUARY:
Kay Rogers, the former owner and manager of Homer Smith Insurance Agency, and the first woman president of the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, died Jan. 8, 1996, at age 58.
A Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Salem.
Mrs. Rogers was born July 19, 1937, in Oak Grove and graduated from Milwaukie High School. She lived in Portland until 1965, when she moved to Salem. She owned Homer Smith agency until 1991.
Survivors include her husband, Barnes D.; sons, Chris J. Sielicky, Dr. Mark Rogers and T. Jay Rogers, all of Salem; daughters, Lisa Bakke and Mary Gregoire, both of Portland; a sister, Pat Wagenknecht of Napa, Calif.; brothers, L.W. Vogel Jr. of North Carolina and Gary Vogel of Portland; and 10 grandchildren.
Interment will be private in Spring Valley Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the Crippled Children's Division of Oregon Health Sciences University, in care of Dr. Victor Menashe, 3181 S.W. Sam Jackson Road, Portland 97201.
