OBITUARY: 

William P. Merriam, 77, of 2095 Church St NE, died Monday at home. Born in Riddle (Douglas County), he lived in Salem 30 years. He was a World War II SeaBee veteran and a retired carpenter. Private services will be at 2:30 pm Thursday in Spring Valley Presbyterian Church, Zena. Interment will be in Zena Cemetery. Virgil T. Golden mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
