OBITUARY: 

Davis Hutchinson, Jan 26, 1914-Jan 6, 1997

Davis Hutchinson, 82, of Salem, died Monday. He was born in Portland and graduated from Grant High School in 1932 and Oregon State University in 1939. He earned a master’s degree from OSU in 1941. He was a captain in the Army during World War II and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He worked in the aerospace industry in California, retiring in the late 1970s, and returned to Salem. He enjoyed photography and travel and was active in several local organizations. His wife, Harriett, died in 1985. Survivors include his daughters, Anna Hutchinson of the US Virgin Islands and Hilary Grant of La Jolla, Calif; brother, Neil Hutchinson of California; and one grandchild. Private interment will be in Zena Pioneer Church. Arrangements are by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary. Contributions: Mid-Willamette Valley Hospice.
