OBITUARY: 

Funeral services for Walter B. Hunt, 81, longtime resident of this area, who died at a local hospital Thursday, will be held at Clough-Barrick Chapel Monday at 1:30 pm. Burial will be in the Zena Cemetery. Born in the Zena community west of Salem Jan 31, 1877, Hunt was the son of Joseph T. and Mary J. Johnson Hunt. He had lived in that community all of his life except for eight years spent homesteading at Ft Rock, Ore, and had been a farmer most of his life. Hunt was married to the former Minnie Penrose Sept 16, 1902, at Zena, who survive shim. Hunt was a member of the Zena Community Church. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs Frances L. Burns and Mrs Helen McClure, both Salem; a son, Kenneth R. Hunt, Salem; a sister, Mrs Daisy King, Portland; a brother, Lloyd Hunt, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
