OBITUARY: 

Jessie Harritt Dies Following Long Illness
Miss Jessie Harritt, native of Oregon who lived in Salem practically all her life, died Wednesday following an illness of the past several months. She had resided at Salem Route 8.
Announcement of services will be made later by the Clough-Barrick Company
Relatives report Miss Harritt had been employed by the State in the insurance department for about the past 30 years and had retired last October. As a young girl she had taught school both in Salem and Newberg.
She was born in Salem at the family homestead Oct. 8, 1886, the daughter of Byron and Cornelia Harritt. She attended schools in Salem and graduated from Oregon State College at Corvallis in 1912. While employed by the state she was a member of the Oregon Employes Association.
Survivors include a brother, Karl W. Harritt, Salem, and a niece and nephew.
