OBITUARY: 

Mrs R. Mae Cochran, 86, an early school teacher in the Salem area, died Friday at a Salem hospital. A late resident of 2813 Florence Ave NE, she had lived in Salem almost 80 years, moving here from Seneca, Kan, where she was born. She taught in the Zena School, the old East Side School here and in Portland. Survivors include son Maynard F. Cochran, Portland; daughters Mrs Daesy Chance, Mrs Eloine Osburn and Mrs Joy Hudson, all Salem; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral will be Monday at 10:30 am at Barrick funeral home, Rev W.R. Whitwell officiating. Burial will be in Zena cemetery.
