OSBH DC (Marion County 1949) #10980 - John Calvin Cannoy, male, farmer, widowed (Fannie), b. 13 Apr 1866 in Elk Creek, Virginia, d. 27 Oct 1949 in Salem, Oregon (481 Union St.) at the age of 83 years, name of father Barney B. Cannoy, maiden name of mother Sarah Cornet, interment Zena; informant Mrs. Ellis White.

OBITUARY: 

John Calvin Cannoy, resident in the Salem area the past 59 years, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 83. Born in Elk Creek, Va, in 1866, Cannoy was a farmer most of his life. He resided recently at 481 Union st. Surviving are a daughter, Elta White, Longview Wash; three sisters, Mrs Katherine Funk, Comers Rocks, Va, and Mrs Hattie Burton and Mrs Bertha Loop, both of Salem; four brothers, Roy Cannoy, Rembrandt, Iowa; Lida and Greek Cannoy, both of Elk Creek, Va; and Olen Cannoy, Salem; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday from the Clough-Barrick chapel with Dr Chester Hamblin officiating. Interment will be in Zena cemetery.
