OBITUARY: 
Alva Womer, a prominent resident of the Pedee section for 38 years, died at the family home near Pedee September 5. He had been in failing health for nearly a decade. He was born in Center county, Pennsylvania, October 3, 1855, and came to Oregon in October 1890. When Mr. Womer was but two years old the family moved from the Quaker state to Iowa, where he spent his boyhood days, and in the 70s the family home was established in Kansas, where it was maintained until Oregon was selected as the abiding place.
Mr. Womer is survived by his widow, Emma Womer, three daughters and two sons: Mrs D.E. Fletcher, Klamath Falls; Mrs. Charles Turner and Mrs. C.L. Burbank, Airlie; Rex and Ren Womer, Airlie. Mrs. Elmer Frye, Independence, is a granddaughter.
Mr. Womer was a member of the Methodist church and the W.O.W. lodge, and had taken a prominent part in the affairs of the Pedee community for many years.
He was married to Miss Emma Mitchell in April 1877, and the golden aniversary was observed a little more than a year ago.
Services are to be held at the Womer cemetery, Pedee, today (Friday) at 2 p.m., and will be in charge of the Keeney funeral home, with Rev V.A. Ballantyne officiating.
