Sarah “Babe” Holt, March 28, 1910-Dec. 9, 1998
Sarah Evelyn “Babe” Holt of Dallas died Dec. 9. She was 88. Born in Grand Ronde, she grew up in Dallas. 
She moved to Portland in 1941, to Toledo in 1945 and then to the Salem area in 1957. She moved to Independence in the early 1990s. She moved to Alabama in 1995 and returned to Dallas in August, 1998. 
She loved animals, especially horses. She was very involved in rodeos when she was young. She married Norman Holt who died in 1957. She married Allen Weston who died in 1975. She married Jim Evans, who died in 1983. 
Survivors include sons, Jack Holt of Keizer and Robert Holt of Eugene; daughters, Darlene Ridgeway of Chinook, Wash, and Pauline Faught of Repton, Ala; a brother, Johnny Brown of Reno, Nev; sisters, Retta Morrison of Springfield and Reva Lockling of Dalem; 22 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. 
Services were held Dec 13 at Bollman Funeral Home. Private interment followed in Brown Cemetery in Dallas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Mid-Willamette Valley Hospice in care of the funeral home.
