OBITUARY:
Jimmie Arron Allister, April 17, 1938-Sept. 20, 2000.
Jimmie Aarron Allister of Salem died on Sept 20 in Salem.
He was 62. He was born in Dallas to Roy and Retta Brown Allister.
He lived most of his life in the Dallas and Salem area, attending school in Dallas. In 1956 he married Delpha Cook in Dallas.
He worked as a mason tender in construction. He enjoyed flying, boating, fishing and most of all his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delpha in 1968; sons, Douglas in 1968, Roy Gene in 1958 and Chucky in 1959; and daughter, Roxie in 1996.
Survivors include his sons, Jimmie “Joe” and Vance, both of Salem; daughter, Susan Morrison of Salem; mother, Retta Allister of Springfield; brother, Roy of Colver; sisters, Betty Haines of Springfield and Beverly Witchey of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were Sept 25 at Brown Cemetery in Dallas. Arrangements are by Bollman Funeral Home in Dallas.
