Phyllis Marie Heese, April 17, 1925-Jan. 10, 1999
Fossil – Phyllis Marie Heese, 73, of Fossil died Sunday in Corvallis. She was born in Falls City to Otis and Laura (Critchlow) Cramer. She went to a grade school in Kings Valley and attended a private high school. She married Lloyd C. Heese Feb 2, 1946, in Winner, SD, and they owned and operated the Truax Gas for Less in Philomath for 28 years. They retired and moved to Fossil 22 years ago. Phyllis liked playing golf, traveling with her family and car trading. She was especially fond of her dog, Dar. Surviving are husband Lloyd; sons Lloyd S. of Fossil and Christopher of Colton; daughters Helen Krushwitz of Colton and Anna Mellen of Corvallis; and 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Sisters Rose Hubbard and Letha Ludkee, brothers Lloyd and Donald Cramer and grandson Matthew Theurer died earlier. A memorial service will be at 1 pm Thursday at Corvlalis Christian Fellowship, with Pastor Terry Hurt officiating. Contributions in Mrs Heese’s memory may be made to Fossil Ambulance or to the American Cancer Society, in care of McHenry Funeral Home, 206 NW Fifth St, Corvallis, Ore 97330.
