J. M. Haggard Dead
J.M. Haggard of Lewisville, who was taken to a Portland sanitorium for treatment some two weeks ago, died there Friday, and was laid to rest in the Smith cemetery last Sunday morning. The cause of his death was an abscess, the shock of an operation proving too much for him. He left a wife, a daughter of John Burns, but no children. Mr. Haggard was well known to all old residents of Polk county and was respected by all as a man of sterling worth and a benefit to the community in which he resided.
