OBITUARY: 
John U. Yeater, who had spent practically all of the 87 years of his life on the place where he was born, died Friday at the Evans Rest Home in Dallas where he had been receiving care. Fuenral services were held Tuesday at the Bollman Funeral Chapel with Rev John A. MacDonald, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial was in the Smith cemetery at Monmouth. Mr YTeater was born May 10, 1868 on the farm of his parents, James T. and Margaret Burns Yeater, in what is known as the Little Luckiamute district a few miles southwest of Dallas. His entire life was spent on this farm until Camp Adair took it over. He had spent the remainder of his life in the Dallas Falls City area. Mr Yeater married Rachel Sherwood at Independence on December 20, 1899. She died a number of years ago. The elderly man had built up through the years a reputation for neighborliness and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Mr Yeater is survived by two daughters, Mrs Wilma Harris, Hoquiam, Wn, and Mrs Margaret Macomber, Toledo. Nieces and nephews surviving are: Mrs Mable Pollen, Vancouver, Wn; Ralph F. Yeater, Echo Yeater, Mrs Neva Langston and Earl Harris, all of Salem; Mrs Norma Seabold, San Diego, Calif; James Chatzook, San Francisco; Mrs Juanita Bristlin, Eddyville; Mrs Pauline Rhodes, Toledo; Mrs M.S.
