George Luther Drennan, Sept 10, 1910-Feb 22, 1991 
INDEPENDENCE – George Luther Drennan, 80, died of a sudden illness Friday at his home. 
He was born in Kirk, Ark, and came to Independence from Menlo Park, Calif, in 1988. He was a truck driver, transporting heavy equipment. He retired in 1975. 
He married Iva S. Mason on May 12, 1942, in Nevada. She died in 1987. He was a World War II Navy veteran, and he enjoyed gardening. 
He is survived by his sons, Larry of Paso Robles, Calif, and Ben of Redding, Calif; daughters, Shirley Sloan of Monmouth and Sue Buck of Great Falls, Mont; and four grandchildren. 
Visiting will be from noon to 8 pm Monday at Farnstrom Mortuary. Services will begin at 10 am Tuesday at the mortuary. Inurnment will be private. Contributions may be made to the Medic Unit, in care of Southeast Polk County Fire District No 1, Monmouth

George Luther Drennan, 80, died Friday, Feb 22, 1991, at his home of a sudden illness. 
He was born Sept 10, 1910 in Kirk, Arkansas, the son of Jesse and Mary Jones Drennan. He was a resident of Independence since 1988, moving here from Menol Park, Ca. 
He married Iva Susann Mason May 12, 1942 in Nevada. She preceded him in death in 1987. 
He had worked as a truck driver, transporting heavy equipment. He retired in 1975. 
He was a Navy veteran of WWII and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include two sons, Larry Drennan of Paso Robles, Ca, and Ben Drennan of Redding, Ca, two daughters, Shirley Sloan of Monmouth and Sue Buck of Great Falls, Mt., and four grandchildren. 
Visitation was Monday, Feb 25, 1991 at the Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence. Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb 26, 1991 at the Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence. Rev. Jerry Anderson presided. Interment was private.
