Clyde M. Carrington, March 5, 1920-March 20, 2005
Independence – Clyde Carrington, 85, longtime resident of Independence passed away at the Salem Hospital on March 20, 2005. Clyde was born March 3, 1920 at Fords Prairie, Wash., to Suzanna and Daniel Carrington. He was the third of nine children. He served in the Army during World War II as a Sergeant in the Infantry in the Pacific. Following his return from active military service, he worked in the logging industry until his retirement. Clyde was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Juanita Carrington on May 29, 1996. Survivors include sons, Roy Carrington of Chico, Calif, Robert Carrington of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and William Carrington of Bonney Lake, Wash.; daughters, Carmon Gagldari and Betty Carrington, both of Independence, and Margaret Mann of Marysville, Wash.; 21 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include brothers, Glen Carrington of Riverside, Calif., and Chester Carrington of Independence; and sisters, Irene Stover of Kelso, Wash, and Dorthy Loudermilk of Arcata, Calif. Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 pm Thurs, March 25 at Farnstrom Mortuary in Independence. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Fri, March 25, at the Cornerstone Christian Center in Independence, officiated by Bob McMillan. Burial will follow the church service at Smith Cemetery in Monmouth, Ore. Funeral services are under the direction of Alex Farnstrom at Farnstrom Mortuary.
