Juanita Villarreal, March 24, 1914-Oct. 10, 1995
Juanita Cruz Villarreal of Uvalde, Texas, formerly of St Paul, died at a Beaverton care center on Oct 10. She was 81. She was born in Palafox, Texas, to Jose and Otila Bernal Cruz. She married Jose R. Villarreal in March 1934, and lived in Catarina, Texas, several years before moving to Asherton, Texas, where she and her husband raised 11 children. She moved to St Paul in 1952. She was a dedicated Catholic and attended church in all of the cities that she lived in. She enjoyed sewing quilts and cooking. Survivors include sons, Jesse of Milwaukie, Luis of Vancouver, Wash, carlos Villarreal of Chelan, Wash; daughters, Mary Moore of Corpus Christi, Texas, Josie Sanchez of Kerrville, Texas, Eva Michaelson of Tacoma, Wash, Sister Juanita Villarreal of Dayton, Elida Villarreal of Salem and Elsa Byrd of Wenatchee, Wash; 32 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1976, and her son, Joe, died in 1984. The Rosary was said at Farnstrom Mortuary Oct 12. Mass of Christian Burial was Oct 13 at St Patrick Catholic Church in Independence.
