OBITUARY: 
After a lingering illness of a year and a half, Lewis Edwards, 69, of Pedee died Friday in Salem. He was a member of a pioneer family of this area. 
Funeral services were held Monday at the Henkle and Bollman chapel with burial following in the Edwards cemetery in Pedee. Mr. Edwards was born on July 5, 1876, at Pedee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Edwards. He was married to Eva Kinsey at Independence on April 30, 1898. 
In 1909 they moved to Stevenson, Wash., where they remained three years before moving back to Pedee. But for the three years, Mr. Edwards lived all of his life in Pedee, operating a sawmill business and farming. 
He was a member of Corvallis Camp No 126, Woodmen of the World. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Eva Edwards; five daughters, Mrs. Alta Oleman of Philomath, Mrs. Bertha Ogle of Corvallis, Zelda and Hattie Edwards, both of Monmouth, and Mrs Nettie Graves of Independence; two sons, Sam and Arthur, both of Monmouth; three brothers, Richard of Kalamazoo, Mich, Alvin of Philomath and Lafe of Pedee; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Burch of Albany and Mrs. Sarah Doty of Jefferson. Two children, Henry and Mable Edwards, preceded him in death.
