OBITUARY: 
Thomas Sharp Burch, age 62 years, died Sunday, November 8, at his home at Rickreall following an illness of several months. Death was due to cancer of the stomach. 
Mr. Burch was a son of S.T. Burch of Rickreall, thought to be the oldest pioneer resident of the Willamette valley who is now 95 years old. He was born at Independence on November 4, 1863, and had lived in Polk county practically all his life. He was married on November 15, 1884, to Mary V. Munch of Rickreall. He is survived by his aged father, his wife, and one son, John T. Burch of Lakeview. There are also four surviving sisters, Mary E., Carolina and Edith E. Burch of Rickreall and Sarah Burch of Poertland, and four brothers, N.S., M.A. and F.R. Burch of Rickreall and J.B. Burch of Albany. Mr. Burch was a member of the Woodmen of the World of Dallas, and the United Artisans of Rickreall. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. at the Rickreall Evengelical church. Rev Paul Poling of Monmouth officiating and A.L. Keeney, funeral director, in charge. Burial was in the family cemetey at Rickreall. Honorary pallbearers for the funeral were James Nesmith, B.F. Lucas, C.G. Coad, M.F. White, and John Vaughan and active pall bearers W.R. Rowell, A.R. Cadle, J.C. Price, Otis Wait, T.W. Burch and A.V. Oliver. Dallas Observer, 12 Nov 1925, 1:1
