Apr 1880 in Oregon, and Lee, age 14, b. Jan 1886 in Oregon.

OBITUARY: 
Death has claimed two Polk pioneers during the week, both of whom were well known all over the county, especially among the older residents. Jacob J. Burch died at his home at Rickreall on Friday, May 2, of kidney trouble and John Martin Rhodes, probably the oldest man in Polk county, died at the home of his daughter in Bridgeport precinct on Sunday. 
Funeral services over the remains of Jacob J. Burch were conducted at Rickreall on Sunday, May 5 [sic], at 11 o’clock and interment took place in the Burch cemetery. Deceased was born in Sheridan county, Mo, January 11, 1838, and was therefore aged 75 years, 3 months and 34 days [sic]. He had been in poor health for a year previous to his death. He came to Oregon in 1847 with his parents who settled near Rickreall where he has since resided. He was married December 19, 1869, to Angelina Nance and five children survived the death of their father. They are Alice, Nora, Grace, Warren and Lee. One brother, Samuel T. Burch and one sister, Mrs Louisa Foster, are also living. There are also seven grandchildren.

Jacob Jefferson Burch, an Oregon pioneer of Polk county, died at his home at Rickreall Friday. Mr. Burch was born in Chariton county, Mo, on January 11, 1838, and crossed the plains with his parents in 1847, settling on a donation land claim in the Rickreall Valley. The Burch family has been prominent in the history of Polk county, the late B.F. Burch, an older brother, having served in the constitutional convention on 1857, as well as in several sessions of the territorial and state legislatures, and Samuel T. Burch, another brother, who survives, having served as sheriff and county judge. Mr. Burch was married in 1869 to Angeline Nance, who survives him, as do the following children: Alice Burch and Mrs. Forest Craven, of Rickreall, Mrs. George Schneller, of Sherwood, and Warren and Lee Burch of St Johns. – Journal.

RICKREALL, Or., May 11.—(Special.)— Jacob Jefferson Burch, one of Polk County’s oldest and earliest pioneers died at his home in this city, aged 75. He was born in Chariton County, Missouri, crossed the plains with his parents in 1847, settling on a donation land claim in the Rickreall Valley. The Burch family has been prominent in the history of Polk County, the late B. F. Burch, an older brother, having served in the constitutional convention in 1857, as well as in several sessions of the territorial and State Legislature.
